How to Be An Effective Strategist Making Smart Decisions and Influencing Others

Thursday, 25 March 2010

Lead Masterclass: Join other business leaders from our Manchester LEAD Programme for an afternoon of inspiration and collaborative learning.

Places are limited to just 20 businesses that employ 20 or less staff. They will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Book your place now at www.businesslinknw.co.uk/leadevent and select Manchester Metropolitan University from the Provider List.

Lynn Martin is Professor of Entrepreneurship at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School and Director of the Centre for Enterprise. She brings research evidence to life to show how the best leaders explore decision making and ways of influencing the decisions made by others. She will help participants understand their own decision making processes, develop more strategic decision making skills and build understanding about how other people make decisions.

You will leave with knowledge about how to develop strategies that can influence others’ decisions. Lynn is an entrepreneur with experience of small business set up, management and exit. She has also published over 40 journal articles and book chapters in the areas of small business management, leadership and development. Lynn is also active in many small business networks. Previously a board member of the women’s enterprise support organisation Prowess, she is now a board member of the Midlands World Trade Forum, a business association with over 800 small firm members and of ISBE, the policy and research organisation for small firms.

This session will be co-hosted by Dr Clare Schofield – leadership expert – who will preview learning activities she uses with successful small business leaders on a ten month intensive and practical leadership programme called LEAD.
