Launch of Business Competition with £1,000 Prize
Entrepreneurs who need extra cash for their businesses are being encouraged to enter the NES Business Competition – where they will have a chance to be chosen as the NES North West Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 and win £1000.NES is the New Entrepreneur Scholarship programme for which MMU Business School (MMUBS) is the regional contractor, and is run through the Centre for Enterprise.
“The Business Competition is open to all NES scholars from across the North West who have recently graduated or will do so in 2007,” explains Dominic Martinez, NES Project Manager at MMUBS, which is organising the next Regional Graduation where the winners will be announced.
“Area Winners will be selected from across the region in local competitions organised by local NES programmes.”
Independent judges will look at all aspects of scholars’ businesses – not just profits. Each Area Winner will receive £250 worth of prizes. The judges will then select an overall winner to become NES North West Entrepreneur of the Year for 2006 – with a cash prize of £1000.
“If NES scholars are proud of their business, have really achieved something or turned their life around with it, then they should enter the Business Competition and tell us all about it, “ adds Dominic.
“If they can impress the judges with their drive and determination, they could walk away with the top prize money.”
