Liverpool Chamber of Commerce & Industry
Liverpool Chamber was established in 1850 to protect the interests of the merchants and businesses in the city. Today, their wide range of services, support and opportunities are designed to keep their members ahead of the competition. They have over 1500 full members and 600 affiliated members - all of whom benefit from the services that the Chamber offers. Liverpool Chamber of Commerce are part of a wider network of North West Chambers and the National Federation of Enterprise Agencies as well as an accredited member of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC). As you would expect from an historic port like Liverpool, they also have longstanding relationships with chambers around the world, including China, Europe and the Middle East.
Liverpool Chamber of Commerce work with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) and deliver MMU's NES programme for Greater Merseyside.
The programme consists of a minimum of twelve weeks part-time learning at LJMU, delivered by experienced tutors. Clients learn all about running their own business and how to produce a professional business plan. Alongside the programme clients also have an opportunity to develop their IT skills with an NVQ level 2 equivalent qualification.
In addition to the group learning programme clients will also have access to the information learning library and IT suite at LJMU. One to one support from a qualified business advisor every two weeks is also provided.
