Innospace
Innospace is a quarter-million pound graduate incubation project launched by the Centre for Enterprise (CfE) at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School. Funded by the CfE, MMUBS and ERDF and based at the MMUBS Minshull Building in city centre Manchester, the incubation space will be open for business in Summer 2007.
Recruitment is currently underway for entrepreneurial graduates looking to grow their business and gain a place in Innospace, which offers access to workspace for 12 months.
“We will help up to 120 people set up and grow a new business,” explains Project Manager, Dominic Martinez. “We aim to help nurture business ideas, improve entrepreneurial skills and talents, and provide a career alternative for graduates. Plus we hope it will help encourage new entrepreneurs to stay in the city and base their businesses here.”
The name ‘Innospace’ was the result of a student competition across the MMU, and similarly, a competition has been run to design the logo for the project. Three consultation events about the project were held, which were very well attended. Over 250 people expressed an interest and the team is currently recruiting those with the best business ideas into the project.
