New Directions 2012

NEW DIRECTIONS 2012 WILL RUN 6TH & 7TH JUNE 2012 - REGISTRATION OPEN SOON!

About the Event

New Directions is a two-day enterprise development programme that the MMU North West Higher Education Enterprise Champions (NW HE EC) team ran on June 13th and 14th 2011. New Directions is designed to equip students, graduates and recent alumni from across MMU with essential enterprising skills. New Directions includes sessions on building your personal brand, creativity, generating ideas, finding solutions to real life business challenges and how to make ideas happen.

New Directions was opened with keynote addresses from the deputy vice-chancellor for strategic planning, Professor Gerry Kelleher and from the director of educator development at the National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship, Professor Alison Price. It was supported by MMU's Entrepreneur in Residence, Mark Sims, who brought real-life commercial experience skills.

2011

A total of 72 students attended New Directions with 53 completing both days. During the first day, we had 69 attendees and we welcomed 56 on day two. In total, we delivered 875 hours of enterprise education over the two days.

The Facebook page created to market the event has since been used as a networking platform for those that attended. It's now a place where attendees can exchange ideas, questions and suggestions and build on their business ideas together and be accessed by going to: http://www.facebook.com/newdirectionsmmu.
