Elizabeth Paris is the University of Oxford’s Director of the Oxford – Zhejiang Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Entrepreneurship Program. She also manages the University of Oxford role in the Goldman Sachs UK 10,000 Small Businesses programme. As an associate fellow at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, her current roles at the school include board membership of the school’s External Relations Board, Finance & Investment Banking Sector Consultant, and membership of the Oxford Institute for Science, Innovation and Society Steering Committee.

Elizabeth graduated from Oxford University and has been involved in investment banking for the last 26 years. Her roles as a managing director in Chase Manhattan and JP Morgan included corporate finance, as head of tax effective finance, and strategy, as head of strategic planning for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, working on the implementation of three significant mergers. Her focus in structured finance included managing the bank’s off-balance sheet companies, and tax-based imbedded derivatives. She continues to work as a consultant in investment banks, and as a programme director in executive education.

Elizabeth has broadened her experience into social enterprise working with the international leadership development organisation Common Purpose. Her interest in governance includes an active role on boards at local, regional and national levels in the public and not-for-profit sectors. Elizabeth is married and lives in Oxfordshire with her two teenage daughters and two Birman cats.
