Zuleika is currently working on her thesis, entitled: Creative and Entrepreneurial Identity in Nascent Musician Entrepreneurs. Her research explores identity construction in nascent musician entrepreneurs. She feels that cultural entrepreneurship remains under-researched and nascent cultural entrepreneurship even more so.

Creative businesses and creative entrepreneurs are moving towards the centre of the cultural policy agenda in the United Kingdom (DCMS, 2008), with recognition that the 13 areas of the sector. employ 1.8 million people and make up a greater share of GDP than in other nations.

She is exploring the complexity of this concept through a two-year tracking study with music students who express intent towards establishing music-related ventures.  The overall intention of the work is to see whether there is indicative evidence of conflict or congruence in the multiple identities of the musician-entrepreneur.
