Graduates celebrate at biggest NES graduation in Manchester
North West NES graduates will celebrate their success in style in Manchester next month – at the biggest NES graduation yet.NES is the New Entrepreneur Scholarship programme for which MMU Business School (MMUBS) is the regional contractor, and is run through the Centre for Enterprise.
“We expect 300 NES scholars to attend this prestigious event,” said Dominic Martinez, NES Project Manager at MMUBS, which is hosting the NES North West Graduation and Networking Event in April. “It will be the biggest gathering of NES entrepreneurs in the North West so far. It promises to be a fantastic night too.”
The NES North West Graduation and Networking Event is on Thursday 19 April starting at 6.30pm in the Atrium at MMUBS’ Geoffrey Manton Building, with NES scholars from across the North West invited to attend.
“We are really looking forward to hosting this year’s event,” said Claire Giddens,
NES Project Officer at MMUBS. “Previous graduations have been held in Preston and Liverpool, and the last one hosted by Furness Enterprise was a great success, with an evening cruise on Lake Windermere. We’re hoping to recreate the same enthusiastic and positive atmosphere on the night here in Manchester, and give NES scholars a memorable evening of celebration for all their hard work on the programme.”
Claire added: “It should be a great turn out, with North West scholars, tutors and special guests helping us to celebrate the success of the programme. Plus there’ll be a buffet and drinks, and of course, a chance for everyone to do all-important networking for contacts and new business.”
The results of the NES Business Competition will also be announced on the night including the NES North West Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 who will walk away with £1000.
Top entrepreneur Jayne Lawton of Grobox will also speak at the event, sharing her expert knowledge and giving an insight into running a successful business.
“We look forward to welcoming scholars from across the region to Manchester on 19 April,” added Dominic. “It’s a very proud moment for entrepreneurs when they receive their graduation certificates and realise that now they really are on their way to starting and running their own businesses.”
