NES scholars depart for Babson College, USA
5 North West NES scholars head off to Babson this month after completing a tough selection process in Liverpool this summer to gain a coveted place on NETS-UK 2007.NES is the New Entrepreneur Scholarship programme for which MMU Business School (MMUBS) is the regional contractor, and is run through the Centre for Enterprise.
NETS-UK is the New Entrepreneur Transatlantic Scholarship which gives NES scholars the opportunity to learn from the American approach to creating new businesses. Set up in 2004, NES scholars are selected from across England to attend training at Babson College near Boston, Massachusetts which specialises in business studies.
The successful scholars will embark on an intensive 2-week trip that involves courses, visits and meeting US small businesses. The programme helps with business planning, increases confidence and raises aspirations, plus it offers entrepreneurs a range of new practical skills such as strategic and creative thinking, finance, business growth, funding and investment, marketing and presentational skills.

Zahir Kazi, Blackburn – runs recruitment agency Relyabletradesmen.com
Joel Igenoza, Manchester - set up Dynamis Security Solutions
Sally O'Donnell, Burnley – runs Quality Health and Safety (QHS) Consultancy
