CfE to host major North West Enterprise Policy conference
The Centre for Enterprise at MMU are hosting an event which is intended to critically review the role of universities in the provision of business support within the Northwest of England. There has been much recent debate both within Higher Education and government on the future role of Higher Education within the business support environment.
Government's recent Business Support Simplification strategy alongside other important initiatives such as the embedding of the Higher Education Innovation Fund into Higher Education Institution funding models mean that universities may be able to play an important part in helping government, both regional and local, to achieve their objectives.
This one day conference gives an opportunity for politicians, policy-makers and academics to examine the way in which the landscape of enterprise, and the related support activities, will change over the next 5 to 10 years and how universities can contribute to the success of UK PLC and in particular the North West's regional economic strategy.
Hosted by the Centre for Enterprise it will feature a keynote address from Professor Henry Etzkowitz and also from Mark Hughes, Executive Director for Enterprise, Skills and Innovation at the North West Development Agency.
