Critical Reflections on Social Enterprise
Part of the MMUBS Centre for Enterprise Seminar Series 28th November 2006 9.45am – 3.30pmSynopsis
A new ‘enterprise culture’ is emerging within the 3rd sector and there is great optimism about the development of Social Enterprises. Frequently heralded as the saviour of public and private business failure - and the answer to worklessness, social isolation and inequality - social enterprise has much to accomplish. This seminar aims to encourage critical reflection about the agenda being set for Social Enterprise and will look at a range of issues affecting the shape and development of the sector.
We present a panel of key academics researching in the field of social enterprise who will debate issues which have particular importance to the development of the sector.
The free seminar is aimed at an academic audience with an interest in Social
Enterprise, but may also appeal to national and local government, support agencies, practitioners and post-grad students alike. There will be opportunities for you to input into the debate and therefore provides a valuable networking opportunity.
