Projects European Regional Development Fund is involved in:
European Regional Development Fund
The European Regional Development Fund is used to provide help in the form of grants towards project costs. These grants are set at the minimum level required to allow the project to go ahead. As a general rule, however, the European Union contributes no more than 50 per cent of the eligible cost, although it can be as much as 75 per cent for projects in Objective 1 regions.
The European Structural Funds are designed to assist areas of the European Union that compare unfavourably with the Union's average levels of prosperity. Their purpose is to create a Europe which is competitive and balances economic efficiency with social justice.
The European Union supports poorer regions of Member States by providing funds to help them regenerate their economies and create new jobs. The four most important funding programmes are known collectively as ‘Structural Funds’. More information on the national picture
The EU has four structural instruments (funds to develop different economic sectors and regions):
-
European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
-
European Social Fund (ESF)
-
European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund (EAGGF)
-
Financial Instrument for Fisheries Guidance (FIFG)
