Introduction
Debbie is currently working on the ESF funded project Managing Maternity in Small Firms in the North West.
Background
Previous work within the Centre for Enterprise includes consultation work for Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council and a survey of Business School graduates postgraduation. Debbie was previously employed as a Research Fellow at The Open University where she worked on JIVE (see www.jivepartners.org.uk). Prior to that she worked on a range of research projects as a research consultant on completion of her PhD in 2000.
Research
Debbie completed her PhD in 2000 at Manchester Metropolitan University's Department of Information and Communications. She also has an MSc in Information Management. Her research interests cover diversity in the labour market, community access to Information and Communication Technology, gender discrimination in non traditional industries - Science, Engineering, Construction and Technology. Teaching: Research Methods and Masters supervision (working as an Associate Lecturer at the Open University)
