Background
Dilani holds a BSc (Hons) in Engineering from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Manchester, Manchester Business School. She has been involved in research in areas of quality management, small firm management, business start-ups and entrepreneurship. Dilani is teaching quantitative research methods and business data analysis at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She also teaches in Advanced Enterprise Programme for final year undergraduate students. Dilani is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research and working as the Academic Supervisor for the KTP programme between MMUBS and Alcohol and Drug Services (ADS)
Research
Dilani has a wide range of research interests in business management in general and small firm and entrepreneurship in particular. Current research focuses on business start-ups and modelling entrepreneurial life course using longitudinal data from secondary data sources. Related research interests are in the fields of strategic management and operations management including quality system implementation and business change management.
