Background

Professor of innovation and entrepreneurship at MMUBS. Ossie was previously employed as a senior lecturer in innovation management at Aston Business School. Before that he spent three years at UMIST School of Management, Manchester (ESRC Teaching Fellow) after completing his PhD at Manchester Business School in 1990. Ossie has published widely in the area of innovation and technology management with a particular focus on smaller firms. Ossie began his working career as an apprentice aircraft fitter with British Aerospace. Then he spent two years working for ICL before joining Hotpoint as an Industrial Engineer - he spent 12 years making washing machines before leaving to take a degree in Organisation Studies at Lancaster University. Editor: "International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour & Research" IJEBR publishes articles which deal with topical issues related to entrepreneurship and enterprise. The journal is based on contributions from a wide range of disciplinary and methodological perspectives. These include, but are not limited to: accounting and finance, anthropology, development studies, economic history, economics, geography, management and marketing, political science, psychology and sociology. In addition, the editor is keen to encourage contributions which critically examine issues related to entrepreneurship and enterprise.

Research

Current research interests include entrepreneurial networks, innovation management in mature SMEs, social capital and entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship/corporate entrepreneurship, individual and organizational learning.
