New Technology, International Networking and Innovation

Technology led organisational and relationship research

How do new technologies impact on the representation and behaviour of individuals and organisations? How does this new technology impact upon international business relationships and on the development of innovation? Does policy support the way in which smaller enterprises respond to new technology?

These are key questions for the research team in this area. New technologies here originally included the Internet but the development of new Web 2.0 technologies has led to doctoral studies in novel areas such as:

  • The investigation of identity formation via new technologies
  • The role of gender in use of web 2.0 technologies such as social networking
  • SMEs and web 2.0 technologies
  • Policy to support SMEs in their suite of new technologies
