Social Enterprise and the Third Sector

Social enterprise and the third sector focused research and business engagement

We have a growing reputation academically for the work we are doing the team. European funded research projects have provided opportunities to develop strengths around management development, please see Balance for details of a tool that we developed during three years of research, which was widely disseminated at international conferences and in journal publications.

We currenlty have three live ESRC grant funded projects

  • A Third sector Fellowship is exploring the capitalisation of knowledge in Groundwork UK, in the field of energy efficiency.  This will provide the opportunity to scope a business process model for Groundwork, which will provide a replicable route for other large third sector organisations.  For more information contact Prof Lynn Martin.
  • A pilot/feasibility study, researching entrepreneurial learning, tipping points and strategic space in social enterprise.  For more information contact Valerie Antcliff.
  • A Business Engagement Grant, researching third sector engagement in the health sector supply chain in Manchester.  For more details visit Engage.

Mike Bull is also on the editorial and review team board of the Social Enterprise Journal.  Contact Mike Bull for further information.
