Carolyn Branston

Enterprise Fellow, Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader

Photo of Carolyn BranstonCarolyn supports small firms through developing the leadership capability of business owners. She is currently taking Cheshire and Manchester based cohorts of SME owner-managers on an intensive ten-month leadership journey through the highly acclaimed LEAD project (Leadership Enterprise and Development Programme).

She has 25 years business experience working in hospitality that included leadership positions in operational and strategic management facilitating business growth and people development - 6 years were within international branded organisations - and 6 years as a joint owner/ manager of a successful private small business.

As Programme Leader for the International Hospitality Management degree programme, her specialist teaching areas are International Human Resource Management, Cross-Cultural Management and Career Development.

She is a departmental specialist in student employability and entrepreneurship and is national committee member of Placement Advisors for Tourism & Hospitality (PATH), a working group of CHME.

Carolyn is committed to CPD and most recently completed a year secondment within the Group HR Strategy department within head office of the Manchester Airports Group. Whilst there she co-designed and led several national joint-training events for senior management, trade union and employee representatives.
