Enterprise Fellow (LEAD Cohort Leader) and Senior Lecturer in Academic Practice Development

Photo of Linda MatthewsLinda supports leaders of small firms in Manchester and Cheshire to grow and develop their leadership skills. She oversees selection onto and participation in the Centre prestigious LEAD programme to create a rich and dynamic learning experience where ambitious firms can meet, share, collaborate and grow.

She combines her role as cohort Leader for LEAD with that of Senior Lecturer in Academic Practice Development in the Centre for Learning and Teaching. This entails unit leadership on both the Post-Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGC AP) and Masters in Academic Practice (MA AP), responsibility for leading and developing the New to Teaching programme in the university and leading the Diversity and Inclusion pathway.

Her specialist teaching areas include reflective practice for professional and business development, observational learning, disability and dyslexia in Higher Education, creative leadership and Renaissance Drama.

She has over twelve years experience of leading social enterprise activities in the third sector by staging charitable events and concerts. In this time she has co-ordinated a number of event as a means of raising revenue for charities and has had overall responsibility of all aspects of these enterprises. The ability to lead and motivate others has been crucial to the success of these events as people were freely giving of both their time and talents.
