Richard Deighton

Director of Innospace, MMU's Business Incubator

Photo of Richard DeightonRichard directs Innospace, our business incubator, which aims to enable graduate-level entrepreneurs to start businesses that will become profitable and sustainable.

He is currently developing the incubator, based in Manchester City Centre, to provide high quality business advice and support to tenant businesses, as well as serviced office space. Richard is qualified in Geography and Civic Design, and worked in Lancashire County Council, Government Office NW and the Environment Agency before moving to Morocco to carry out a three year research project. On his return, he specialised in programme and project manager and joined MMU in January 2007 to programme manage a £5 million knowledge transfer partnership.  Richard is married with two children, and enjoys outdoor sports, current affairs and inter-cultural relations as well as practising business French and conversational Arabic.
